SmartRide, the comprehensive mobile travel information solution provided by VVT (Verkehrsverbund Tirol), has recently undergone optimization. Formerly restricted to Tyrol, the information services offered by VVT SmartRide are now accessible nationwide throughout Austria. Users can now access all timetable information, spanning bus, train, tram, cycling, and pedestrian routes, via a single application that covers all of Austria. This enhanced service encompasses a nationwide multimodal travel information system that includes options for Bike & Ride, Park & Ride, and car-train combinations.

VVT SmartRide streamlines the process by allowing users to input an address and leveraging up-to-date data. Real-time traffic updates, roadworks, congestion reports, and delays in public transport can all be factored into travel plans. Users are not required to know specific stop names; with GPS enabled, the app can identify nearby stops based on the user's current location. Additionally, users have the option to enter points of interest or street names. SmartRide offers fast and straightforward access to information for easy comparisons between different transportation modes. The app provides clear map views for orientation, enhanced with a new design. New features include the ability to share traffic updates via email or text message and save departure and arrival times in the calendar.
